What each one starts from
RoomGPT starts from a photograph: "transform any room with just one photo". Sightline starts from a floor plan you confirm, and builds a 3D scaffold from it before rendering. That single difference drives everything below, because a photo carries appearance and a plan carries dimensions.
Where RoomGPT is the better choice
Your room exists, the walls are staying, and you want to see it in a different style — RoomGPT is faster and simpler for that, and it does not ask you for measurements you would have to go and take. Its own site cites over four million users. If the job is "what would this room look like in a different style", starting from the photo is the right starting point and adding a floor plan is a chore for no benefit.
Where Sightline is the better choice
The room is changing shape, moving plumbing, or does not exist yet; you need the render to match dimensions you can order against; you want a contractor-style review of the layout before committing; or you need a materials list with quantities. A photo tool has no dimensions to work from, so it cannot check whether the vanity fits or tell you a 42in island aisle will be tight.
What Sightline does not do
It does not restyle a photograph without a plan, it has no product catalogue and no shopping cart, and it covers kitchens, bathrooms, mudrooms and laundry rooms rather than every room in the house. Quantities are estimates from the dimensions you confirm and should be checked with your contractor or supplier before ordering. Always verify field dimensions before building.
