Sightline (“we”) is a renovation visualization tool at sightline.house, run by an independent founder. This page explains, in plain language, what we collect and what we do with it.

What we collect

• Email address — if you provide it before generating renders, so your designs and shareable brief don't get lost.
• Design data — room dimensions, floor plans, material choices, and the conversation you have with the design assistant.
• Photos — room photos or floor plan images you choose to upload.
• Usage analytics — page views and product events (e.g. “render generated”), collected via PostHog, including approximate location from your IP and browser type.

How we use it

• To run the product: generate renders, reviews, and briefs from what you enter.
• To improve the product: understanding which features work and where people get stuck.
• To contact you about your designs, if you gave us your email. No spam, no selling your data — ever.

Who processes your data

Generating your renders and design advice involves sending your design data (and photos, if uploaded) to AI providers — currently OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google — under their API terms, which do not permit them to train on this data. Our infrastructure runs on Vercel (site hosting, image storage), Fly.io (backend), and Neon (database). Analytics run on PostHog, and error reports go to Sentry.

Error reports exist so we find out when something breaks without waiting for you to tell us. They carry the error itself and the page it happened on. We deliberately strip request bodies, cookies and headers before sending, so your floor plans, dimensions and design conversations are not included, and we do not record screen sessions.

Sharing

Briefs you create get a share link — anyone with that link can view that brief, including its renders and floor plan. That's the point of the feature; share links are unlisted but not access-controlled. We never sell personal data and never share your email with anyone.

Retention & deletion

We keep your data while it's needed to provide the service. You can delete your account yourself at any time — open the account menu and choose Delete account. It happens immediately and cannot be undone.

Deleting your account removes:

• Your account, name and email address.
• Your projects, designs and saved layouts.
• Any briefs you published, including their share links — those stop working for anyone you sent them to.
• Your sign-in sessions on every device.

Two things it does not remove, stated plainly rather than glossed over. We keep anonymous records of what our AI usage cost — these carry no personal data and are what our billing is reconciled against. And images already generated remain in storage for now; their addresses are unguessable and nothing links to them any more, but the files themselves are not yet swept. Briefs published before August 2026 were not linked to an account and cannot be found automatically — email us and we will remove them by hand.
